During many years, even decades, of research on Tesla the humanist and not only the scientist, one fact stood out to me – all of Tesla’s thoughts and ideas about the humanity were not simply a result of sporadic thinking. They were an integral part of a holistic view of the world. Many of his valuable visions can be found on the internet (some of which are mistakenly ascribed to him), but there are many more that had not been known to the general public. They had been kept at the Nikola Tesla Museum’s archives.
We have brought to life the Tesla Doctrine project in the right moment. The world needs change. The consumer culture we live in needs to be redirected. Time is the most valuable resource the human kind has — and it is running out. At Tesla Doctrine we recognize the urge of individuals for a better, more meaningful, sustainable life. It is our goal to gather individuals and institutions that too believe in the well-informed society and recognize the need for a positive impact.
I am pleased to say that we are very close to completing the most accurate and most compelling Database of Nikola Tesla’s articles, patents and lectures. This huge source of knowledge is now open to public, and we are inviting everyone to use its potential and engage in further development of our agenda.
Making our website available in the world’s most spoken languages is our next step. We believe everyone and anyone should have access to our content – not only academics, businessmen and scientists, but also artists, chefs, farmers…Every single person from any part of the globe.
Finally, but most importantly, we will give our personal best in our efforts to inspire others and support causes aligned with Nikola Tesla’s vision of mankind. I know that education, communication and taking action are the key to transforming lives. Our work continues.

Who was Nikola Tesla
Since the Tesla Doctrine platform is designed for a diverse audience – for everyone and anyone wishing to make an impact, there might be some of you that had not been previously acquainted with the amazing life of Nikola Tesla. With this in mind, we are proud to share his short Autobiography, written by his own hand, which is being preserved in the Archives of the Nikola Tesla Museum.
Tesla’s Autobiography (written ca.1930) is a testament of how the amazing inventor perceived himself and how he wished to be perceived by others.

Tesla’s Biography:
“Nikola Tesla was born at the stroke of midnight July 9-10th, 1856, in Smiljan (place of exquisite flowers), a little village of Yugoslavia. His father, Milutin Tesla, was a distinguished clergyman, a man of great erudition, poet, orator. His mother, Georgina Mandic, came from the very oldest family in the land and a long line of inventors. She devised and constructed herself numerous useful appliances and performed all source of work in which she displayed extraordinary skill and diligence of an ant. Both of Nikola’s parents as well as other members of his family were gifted with phenomenal memories.
Stimulated by his mother he begun to emulate her almost in childhood. His father boyish triumph was achieved when, at the age of six, he managed to put in operation new fire engine after futile efforts of the expert attendants. Most of his early life outside of school was passed in tinkering or ruminating in the voluminous libraries of his father and his uncle, the Metropolitan Nikola. Seventeen years were devoted to intense study at various European institutions of learning the chief subjects in the advanced courses being mathematics, physics, electricity, mechanics and philosophical science. Incidentally, he acquired the knowledge of a dozen languages. In 1884 he came to this country where he became a citizen in 1889 and has since permanently resided. He was always, and is now, engaged in independent experimental research.
The inventions and discoveries of Nikola Tesla have made so profound and manysided impression on the technical arts and sciences that they are without parallel in the annals. More than a hundred words and phrases have been coined in recognition of the originality and importance of his creations. Stated in chronological order the most important among these are the followings: The rotating field, induction motor and alternating system of power transmission 1882-1888; Tesla coil and oscillation transformer 1889-1892; Researches and experiments with currents of high frequency 1889-1893; electromechanical isochronous oscillators 1890-1892; Tesla Wireless System 1891-1893; electro tubes 1892-1893; high potential apparatus 1893-1896; discovery of cosmic rays 1896; Tesla theory of radioactivity 1896-1898; high potential vacuum tubes 1896-1898; methods of an apparatus for regulation and control of tuned circuits 1896-1897; art of Telautomatics 1897-1899; art of individualization 1898-1903; discovery of terrestrial resonance and law of conduction currents through the global 1899; high potential wireless power transmitter 1899; experiments with artificial lightening 1899; methods of an apparatus for receiving and amplifying effects transmitted through the natural media 1903-1905; art of transmitting energy by stationary terrestrial waves 1906; wireless world system 1906-1919; magnifying transmitter for production transcending potentials 1914; speedometers of new principles, unfailing means for lightening protection, a high speed aeroplane capable of rising vertically and hovering in the air, types of steam and gas turbines, pressure and vacuum pumps and other apparatus 1916-1926. Due to unfavorable circumstances some of Mr. Tesla’s best results have not yet been announced. Among these are original discoveries in molecular physics and the new process for refining, purifying and cheapening steel, copper, aluminum and other metals. But far more important than all these are certain discoveries relating to a new form of energy available everywhere which he has promised to reveal in the near future.”
What is Tesla Doctrine
Nikolatesladoctrine.org is a global cultural project, powered by the Nikola Tesla Museum. It is aimed at promoting Nikola Tesla’s unique approach to creating a truly sustainable society. We are focused on developing and spreading his ideas about different aspects of human life – technology, society, psychology, health, education and culture. These aspects form a unique cultural model. A model with distinctive principles and values.
The Tesla Doctrine can be perceived as an interactive tool for changing the direction of human energy and the society as a whole. By creating different activities in key aspects of culture, science and education, we wish to warn people about the negative effects of consumer culture and promote a different, sustainable cultural model.
In order to understand values of the Tesla Doctrine, it is necessary to show the context around it – the cultural model from the time of Tesla, our present cultural model and the cultural model of the future.
The “Problem of Increasing Human Energy”, a technological-philosophical study, written by Tesla is a starting point for our contemplation. The next step is to understand consumer culture and its consequences.
Deepest level of culture lies in values. Value can be defined as the answer to the question, “What is it that you want to live for? How do you want to live?” However, people may not be consciously aware of their own value systems that drive their behavior and decisions. Most of the deepest held values are at sub-conscious level.
In our modern consumption world main manipulation takes place in space between the culturally constituted world, the consumer good, and the humans who are now observed as individual consumer. In order to build cultural resonance big corporations use technology of creating brands with aim to decode culture from the target society and encode culture in their brands through their products and advertisements.
But the same technology can be used for redirection culture in true sustainable direction. Our aim is to become a part of a growing movement for the sustainable development and act as a unifying factor for the development of a truly sustainable culture, a culture inspired by Tesla’s ideas and visions.

Ever since the famous Summit in Rio de Janeiro, in 1992, scientific community has been making dramatic warnings about ever-increasing irreversible destructive processes on the planet Earth.
Tesla Doctrine gives a valuable insight into the essence of this problem. It is based on the core idea that reads – in order to develop a stable civilization, it is necessary to solve spiritual, social and economic problems responsibly. We intend to point out the important difference between responsible and irresponsible approach to human existence.
